A few shots from our day in Boston yesterday.
East to Providence
My name is Josh. I like music & hockey, food & friends, writing & skinny jeans. I'm 26. Chances are I'm somewhere in New England. If not, then I'm in Seattle.
East to Providence is a journey of sorts. One filled with wrong turns, Arnold Palmer and an iPhone GPS that's running out of battery power.
Welcome to my life. Ask away..
Sales from this shirt helped raise nearly $700,000 for Boston’s One Fund. So happy to have gotten mine in the mail today. Proud to be an Emerson alum. Proud to call Boston my home away from home.
The picture of the finish line is from a few years ago while I was in school. Drove down Boylston two days before the race and snapped that pic while sitting in traffic. I think that’s just about where the first bomb went off. Still breaks my fucking heart.
I spent two years in Boston. I can remember having dinner one Friday night at that Uno’s next to where the second bomb went off. I went to school on Boylston. I drank on Boylston. I spent some of my best days and nights on Boylston. There’s something about all this I’m never going to be able to let go.
Just ordered this shirt. Not only does it support The One Fund, but it was also designed by someone from Emerson College. It’s the least I can do to the city I fell in love with, spent two years of my life in and will always consider a second home.
I couldn’t put it better than that. Just ordered mine. Support the city, support the college.
Unbelievably excited for Record Store Day 2013.
I never would have thought that in my lifetime I’d see Boylston Street looking like this.
It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around exactly what happened yesterday in Boston. I had friends running in the marathon, watching the race in the Back Bay & others just spending their day in the city. Thankfully, everyone is okay.
But it still hit pretty close to home for me. I might not be in the city anymore, but I spent two years on Boylston. I’ve walked that sidewalk a thousand times. I covered the Boston Marathon for a journalism class - doing interviews at the finish line. I made countless memories in that city, and even though I’m not spending everyday walking its streets, Boston will always be home to me.
My thoughts are with the city and all those affected by the terrible events.
See you Saturday, Bean Town…
